Do you want to escape to a rustic Montana mountain cabin? When you enter the front gate you will begin your adventure and unplug from your normal life routine. You will find peace and quiet with just enough amenities to make your stay comfortable.
Our piece of Montana started out as a family retreat and hunting camp. The property has the feel of an old Montana guest ranch, outfitter's camp or lodge which was by design. The log entrance, jack-leg fencing, rustic buildings and log rental cabins are reminiscent of Montana's colorful western history. Their construction was an attempt to honor and pay tribute to these bygone days in Montana. Many of the furnishings and building materials have been salvaged and repurposed in an attempt accomplish our goal. After encouragement from friends, guests and family members we have decided to share our little mountain hideaway. As our guests we hope you will enjoy this place as much as we do.
This is not the place for everyone, and we do not want it to be. But if you need to hear the crackle of a fire and not the ringtone of your phone, if you need to talk to someone again and not text, if you need to create and savor and not just drive through and eat and finally if you long to make a memory and not a deadline this might be just the perfect place for you. Give it a try and I bet your imagination will remember how to entertain you. We would be pleased to give you a hand in doing that.
The "Bunk House" cabin can sleep 5 guests with a king size bed in the upstairs room along with a twin bed. The loft is accessed with a ladder/staircase through a trap door . The loft is equipped with a small desk and chair, a rocker and a small TV with a DVD player with a collection of family friendly movies. You will need to bring you
The "Bunk House" cabin can sleep 5 guests with a king size bed in the upstairs room along with a twin bed. The loft is accessed with a ladder/staircase through a trap door . The loft is equipped with a small desk and chair, a rocker and a small TV with a DVD player with a collection of family friendly movies. You will need to bring your own bedding. However, we can provide bedding for our out of town guests for an extra fee.
There is also a pull-out futon on the main level of the cabin that can sleep two people. The cabin is a dry cabin (no running water) but is equipped with a propane cook stove and pots and pans in the small yet efficient kitchen. A farm house style kitchen table is also on the main level. The cabin is heated with a wood stove on the main level and a propane wall furnace upstairs. The cabin is "off grid" and uses a renewable solar power system to generate electricity. The Bunk House has a front and side porch, both great places to have your morning coffee.
The "Red Neck" cabin is a tiny log cabin about a hundred feet away from the "Bunk House". Built-in bunk beds are the sleeping arrangement and will sleep two guests. Bring your own bedding or we can provide. The Red Neck is heated with a propane wall heater and a very cool antique pot belly wood stove. There is a small table and chairs along with a two-burner gas cook top to heat up some soup or make your morning coffee or tea. The cabin has a small front porch to enjoy a Montana morning. The Red Neck is a great cabin for teenagers who want their own space or another couple you are traveling with. The cabin does not have running water and is solar powered for electricity. There is a pair of two way radios in the the cabins to keep "in touch" with between cabins during the night if needed. THERE IS NOT CELL PHONE SERVICE AT EITHER OF THE CABINS! Cell coverage is a couple of miles up the road if you need to make a call.
